Just taken my 5 month old HT2 bottom bracket of to give it a check over. Hardly any water inside the frame so I cleaned up the muck that I could see, smeared some grease around the bearing (not under the top hat) and reassebled.
The crank spins OK by hand (without chain) but when I let go it stops pretty quickly and I'm wondering if they should spin freely, but I can't remember what it was like when the BB was new.
There are no crunchy sounds and seems smooth. Any thoughts?
Sounds like you might have tightened the preload up a little bit too much? Try easing it off a tiny bit and spinning again maybe.
Sounds fine. The bearing seals stop it from rotating too freely, but it'll be fine once you're riding it.
Cheers guys. WW: preload not even fitted, crank just pushed through. Think it's OK, will find out tonight.
