i'm looking at changing the gearing on y cross bike, currently has a tiagra compact on it. 110 pcd, 68mm shell. Are the axel lengths thesame for mtb ht2 chainsets a road ones? If not is it possible to get a mtb one to fit.

If not ayone know if you can get a 32 or 30 110 pcd chainring 34 seems to be the smallest i can find

mtb are longer to deal with 73mm bb, but come with spacers to suit a 68mm shell

best bang for buck mtb chainset in mho is:

deore 590

or if you can fine one (some on ebay the older 532)

I use MTB chainstes on both my Uncle John and my road bike. Both fine. I just use the 26/36/48's
