Has anybody any experience of these on a 31mm rim for the front?
I’d like to leave a tyre on all year round ideally so feeling a little put off by the 2.5wt versions thinking they might roll to slow and not hook up so well in the mud!
It’s a 29er and currently running a magic Mary on the front in trailstar
I had a DHF/DHR combo on 30mm rims albeit on 27.5 and they are fine but I've just replaced them with the WT versions (2.5 DHF, 2.4 DHR) and would definitely recommend them over the 2.3.
It's not so much that they are wider but they have a better shape and the whole tread has been 'scaled up' so there are slightly fewer blocks but they are bigger, deeper and more widely spaced.
I have a DHF 2.3 on a 30mm internal rim in the back of my 29er hardtail and it's fine.
so would you say the 2.5 is at least as good in the mud as the 2.3?
