Im an utter mechanical numpty, so really havent a clue where to start...does anyone know of a guide on how to service the KS posts, or know of anywhere that does service them? Mine has got a bit sloppy side to side which is irritating me no end.

This has been posted a few times and is pretty good unless you want to take things further. I had the same issue and just bought some new bushing from SuperS***, replaced them, re-lubed with RnR Super Slick, and it eliminated most of the sideplay.

If you search mtbr there's a guy there who's stripped it down further. There's a link to it somewhere on here if you search.

Edit: I'm pretty hopeless mechanically and I managed the basic service as described in the link quite easily. Incidentally, mine had a load of ball bearings in it rather than the brass rod bush thing that SS sells, but it fits straight into the slot and seems to work fine. If I can manage it, anyone can.

What's the deal with the compressed bits and bobs and horror stories about it exploding on you if you try and open it? Has anyone opened up an i7r, specifically the piggy back bit under the saddle?
