Hi,
I need to return a wheel to Hope for a warranty replacement (cracked Pro II hub). Does anyone have any experience of sending items such as wheels? Is it best to arrange a courier or send via Royal Mail? Currently having trouble sourcing a bike box to send them in but hoping a local bike shop will be able to help me out...
Thanks.
Hmmm, the flange on my Pro2 cracked on Friday, and as it wasn't a Hope build I stripped the wheel down and I've just sent the hub- I'd assumed that's all they'd want/ accept?
I've posted wheels with Royal mail before, it's best to use a wheel box (I think hope stipulate that you have to use one or they'll charge you for one to return the wheel in), your LBS may or may not have one they can give you.
I tend to send anything bigger than a jiffy bag via Interparcel.com much cheapew and less hassle than royal fail.
Hope said that they would replace the hub and rebuild the wheel... (or probably just provide a replacement I should think)...
Interparcel.com may well be the way forward, thanks for the tip. Any ideas of the rough dimensions and weight of a wheel (in a wheel box)?!
Just looked at the returns form, it doesn't say anything about stripping wheels down- pah, I wish I hadn't bothered now; think I've conned myself out of a free wheel rebuild (if they warranty the hub)!
It does say that they recommend sending with RMSD, but any recorded delivery will be fine.
I sent a wheel back via Royal Mail recorded delivery, absolutely fine. I fashioned a wheel box from a big cardboard box and Hope happily reused it.
