My has got himself a giant brass and the b/b gone. Its an octolink b/b and I have no idea how to remove as I jumped from square taper (here I have a crank removal tool) to hollotech. Neither of which seem to require the same tool.
Anyone have to know how of what to do? Before it's hammer time?
Many thanks in advance.
same tool as square taper but with a 5p across the end of the axle to stop the tool going inside it.
To remove the bottom bracket you use the same tool that you'd use for a square taper bottom bracket. If you mean the crank arms, assuming they're not self-extracting bolts, you use a standard crank puller with a 'Top Hat' insert or, as wwaswa says use a 5p.
Job's a good 'un thank you both! 5p certainly is cheaper than £4.99! 😀
