How to extend a Carbon steerer?

Yet another carbon question! As I get older and creakier I am finding the front end of my road bike too low. The stem is flipped to give max. height and has as many spacers as possible. Can I use a steerer extender on a carbon steerer?ย I have one on an alloy MTB fork which works fine and even looks a lot like a carbon bung. Any other suggestions gratefully received.

Personally I wouldn't on a carbon steerer.

Higher rise stem?

I think that's probably the safest option. Might look a bit weird but comfort comes first!

Get some riser drops and a higher rise stem

Just get an insert with an extended plug. You can bond it in with epoxy for extra safety although I did not.ย
