on the way home from work on my commute last night i notice a grinding noise that appeared to be coming from the BB area. I had a look and seems that road salt and grime has got into the bearings and taken all the lub out.
How do you take the bearings out and re-grease them? Is there a special tool or do you just knock them out?
I think there's a 'how to' video on the Hope website. The grinding is often crap behing the plastic shields, pop 'em out & clean them before condeming the bearings.

Try taking off the plastic seals, then taking off the rubber cartridge bearing seals with a knife blade. Clean out the bearings and regrease, then pop back together. Providing your bearings are still in good nick, job done.
yes have found the video on the Hope website.
the grinding sounds like metal scrapping and there appears lots of brown stains/rust coming from the BB area.
will trying greasing again before getting new bearings.
Once bearings are going rusty they are buggered and need replacing
