7 weeks and 400 miles old. Now mangled foil and useless

I had loads of the old ones break but not the new "half sized" ones... And tbf I'd expect to have broken at least a couple by this time if they were as bad as the old design.

I doubt it. It's the same set up for SS hubs too, they should see a lot more stress IMO.

In the 400 (wet) miles have you popped off the hub body to give it a clean?

I christening my new Hope SS hub at the 'puffer this year. Popped off the hub body when I was the bike a clean and it was fairly manky in there, not gritty just grey horrible-ness. I think it would of been fine but a quick wipe and a drop of fresh lube and its purring again.

Rob, I've got about 7000 miles on mine, all single ring & its me only bike & we ride the same places. Do you pack the hub with loads of grease?

No problem whatsoever in thousands of miles, which is more than I got with the standard Pro 2's. Have you just replaced them?
