[#11751551]

Not sure how many Stooges have been made in total - maybe 100-150 of each run?

So with MKs 1 to 4 and the Scrambler, are we talking about 700-800 in total?

How many are owned by people on STW then?

One MK4 here 🙂

That's 3!
3 stooges. 👌
Perfect.

My mate has a Stooge. He's not on here though so it's still 3.

I've a mark 2 in turquoise. I love it!

I've had it built up with 29er wheels and 2.3" tyres, 27.5"+ wheels and 3" tyres, geared and singlespeed.

Currently used as a snow bike with 27.5"+ wheels and, 3" tyres and singlespeed.

Can't ever see me selling it as it's so versatile and always makes me smile when riding it.

I'm thinking of putting on Jones type hoop bars, gears, 700 wheels with 40mm tyres and taking it touring in the summer. Nothing huge, just a couple of over nighters and long weekends. I've a set of XT 700 wheels on the turbo at the mo, the front has a dynamo hub too. Would be perfect for touring and long Audaxes. Wouldn't be any heavier than my old Croix de fer.

Not every STWer has a Stooge, but I’m willing to bet that every Stooge owner has been on STW, at least in the UK...

Any news on mk5 pre-orders? I think that the mk3 in classifieds would be too small for me but I have got the itch.

Just 'soon' I think.
I'm assuming it will be like a MK4, but probably boost like the Scrambler.

@bubs how tall are you?

6ft 1.5. The mk4 looks to have a longer reach than the 3.

Yeah, having had a go on a Mk3 a year or so back, and now owning a MK4, at 6ft it fits me loads better.
I run it with a really short (25mm) stem, and a 150mm dropper.
So a 40/45mm stem and a 170mm dropper would probably do you perfectly.

I had a Speedball for a bit and really regret selling it. Tempted by a Mk4 or maybe a steel Dirtbomb. Anyone want to sell me a Mk4 or Speedball 😀

I think the only things lacking on my Mark 2 are:
- Second bottle cage bolts fixings
- Rear rack fixings
- Front rack fixings

None of the above are enough for me sell the Mark 2.

I would like to build one up as a monster crosser/bike packer. Complete with flared drop bars.

Had a Mk1, Mk4 and Speedball. Currently riding a Scrambler. Particularly miss the Mk1 and Speedball. Would love another Speedball, great all day rigid bike.

It was yours that I bought I think Clink. Really regret selling it. Such a comfortable and fun bike for cruising about on.

I've got Funkmasterp's (nee Clinks?) Speedball. Love clocking up the miles on this machine, made a few tweaks!

Edit - sorry you're not having it back 😆

I’ve got a MK3. Ran it with a bouncy front at first, now with the rigid forks.

The mk4 looks to have a longer reach than the 3.

The MK4 has the same reach as the 20” MK3, but with a short seat tube.

Had a MK1, sold it (to someone here) due to limited rear tyre clearance and short reach... Regretted that so got a MK4 which was stolen. ☹️

only 50 steel speedballs and about 6 ti ones plus my one off original

i think the owners club on facebook is pretty much all the bikes accounted for give or take a couple.
