[#11751568]

This is driving me mad and there doesn't seem much info out there I have a touch of play in my freehub, The wheels are EA70 Xc 29 from about 2012/13 i think , I can't for the life of me find out how to remove the freehub, I think i've found every model of Easton rear hub on youtube but can't find anything on this one....Anybody shed any light on the hub/freehub, is it serviceable or is it a new hub job.
thanks

Think I have the 26" version definitely remember getting the freehub off but don't quite remember how! Though you might need circlip pliars for a (pointless?) circlip? Then maybe that reveals a nut to loosen? Will have a look tomorrow.

I believe it's a throw away. One model isnt serviceable. However it has two slots down inside which you can modify a socket with a grinder to get it off. Either way once off it's dead anyway. At the .most packjit with grease and keep as a spare. It's the main reason I never buy Easton anymore.

It’s not serviceable just got mine off

I’ll stick a link to some photos.

Body and hub off

A 12mm Allen fits that captive nut with lots of splines and then the body screws out of it.

Brill thanks for that , so to remove I use a 12mm hex from the non hub side ? Clockwise or counter?, Have you managed to locate a replacement freehub ?
Thanks for the help 😁

Looks like a joytech freehub so probably the same as one used by Specialized / Giant kona etc.

Maybe visiting a few shop to try and match it up.

Or silverfish are the UK Easton people and are normally very helpful
