Whats your accurate milage this year on a bike?
I always use my garmin and for the last 365 days it shows: 2,853.51 miles
with 167,858 Cals burned.
I should be a cycling god after this. But im not? 🙁
well that's only 55 miles a week.. though off road it's obviously more time and effort
2315 since 7/03/11 all on my mtb 80%+ off road.
861 since March 30th.
631 miles road.
230 miles MTB.
Not exactly a mega amount but it keeps me slim 😉
WGAF - riding mountainbikes shouldn't be about miles 😉
it should be about these..
🙂

I should of said that this was from 6th november 2010. So not a full year.
I have thousands of smiles 🙂 🙂 etc
Since Jan 1st 1789.6 miles, so a whisker over 8 months.
60 miles a week commuting
20 miles night ride
70 miles mid week race
50-100 miles over the weekend (depending on road/mtb)
so in a big week I would do 250miles and in a shorter week around 200miles
This drops in Winter and I don't do this every week so maybe 7500miles a year?
Commuting has made a massive difference to my fitness as you build up miles without trying. Mid week racing is a 30-40 mile race with cycling to and from the event as a warmup. This has nearly killed me some weeks on top of everything else. The mid week races are over so I'm looking forawrd to not having sore legs on Wednesdays anymore.
Approximately 3500 - 4000 miles, commuting and MTBing.
Calories burnt = lots
Calories eaten as a result of all that riding = even more. Oops 😳
I hit mile 1000 for 2011 just before the first water at Kielder on Saturday.
Did another 43 miles after that, plus 5 miles each on Monday and Tuesday and 2.5 so far today. So that's, erm, about 1055 miles.
Which is rubbish.
I wish I could commute - But I work from home doing IT Support 🙁
You could always move house then you could commute to your old place... 😆 8)
2133 miles since the start of March this year, so should be good for over 4000 miles in 12 months
from 01/01/2011
3,956.35 Miles
130,903 Total Ascent
15.33 Avg Speed
70 miles mid week race
What race is that!?
3964 since January 1st for me, probably 80:20 road:MTB.
Around 2300 since January 1st, mixture of all types of riding.
Was hoping to get around 300 miles per month average over the year but reckon it'll be more like 250, especially when the weather gets worse soon and i won't get out as much.
2006: 1700 miles
2007: 1694 miles
2008: 1953 miles
2009: 1923 miles
2010: 1685 miles
Since the 23rd of Jan, when I got my Garmin.
Just had a month off with a broken foot though.
Count: 83 Activities
Distance: 3,200.16 mi

Avg Speed: 16.7 mph
Only 430 miles on the MTB 🙁
All fun though... 🙂
Since the 1st of January I've done 3511 miles in 279 hours 50 minutes.
Haven't got a clue 🙂
2820 miles so far since 1st Jan. But I had May and half of August off 🙁
Jammy Beggar! so you've got an extra hour in the morning and afternoon that most people don't have, you could use that for riding. But I work from home doing IT Support
Just over 3000 so far, bit less than this time last year, a lot less than the year before.
Smiles certainly are more important but they do tend to be linked, 60 fun* rides by this time last year only 45 this year 🙁
*riding offroad for sheer enjoyment not commuting (which can also be fun)
Dunno, several thousand though.
personally need to do 100-130 a week to think about being fit from cycling
4,340 miles as of today.... mixture of MTB, Commuting and a bit of touring. Wishinh to beat my 5,850 miles from last year. 8)

A massive 11 non-commuting/'utility' rides for me this year so far 🙁
70 miles mid week raceWhat race is that!?
TLI road race. Typically 30 odd miles but I ride there from home which doubles the distance and serves as a warmup. There's two a week around Newcastle and I tried to do one every other week. There were 10m TT on the days in between. Te road calender up here is so full I think you can race or TT 6 days out of 7 during summer.
About 7,500 since Jan 1st. I did spend 2 months in USA doing 4,000 miles and had done 3,200 before going. Most of these on mtb with close to 5,000 being loaded.
Doubt I will achieve these numbers again - rarely get chance to willy-wave;-)
1048 off road miles this year, missed out on about 3 months worth of riding with injurys
5188kms or 3224 miles this year
For the last 12 months
7446 kms, or 4629 miles
All off-road which might account for my high maintenance and bike bits bills 😯

given up measuring when i threw the garmin in the bin, last year was just over 5500 miles, no idea this year.
5,073.51 mi logged this year so far.
Not all my mileage though - I think I could probably add about another 1000.
Ha! Just realised that I can work this out from my cyclemeter app.
The rides I've logged say 443 miles on the road bike and 326 on the mountain bike.
There have been another few where I've forgot to start it logging or the batteries have run out mid-ride so probably in the region of 1000 miles.
Looking at the above, I'm the laziest bugger on this forum by some considerable distance. 😳
A shade under 7,000km for 2011 so far. What's that in miles?
3,500 to the end of August, about 3,600 now - curse these holidays....
Something like 130km per week.
Must be around the 10,000 mark for this last year. With something like 100 off road. Lots and lots and lots of commuting miles in there.
6100km so far this year.
All on a 29er mountain bike.
2400km of that on a single speed.
1282, which I was proud of until I read this thread.
Including today's (which felt bloody ace despite the wind and rain) commute, around 100... 🙂
http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/im-off-to-see-the-consultant-wish-me-luck
3250 miles in 191 hours since 18 Feb, which is a massive improvement on last year when I did the princely sum of 1756 miles 😳
I thought it might be worth resurrecting this to see how we all faired for 2011.
I managed 9,447km / 5,870 miles cycling, but topped it up to over 10,000km with walking, running and some kayaking. I don't think I'll be doing anything near that in 2012.
Bought road bike in April, and have done 3.7k since then.
Running didn't really feature much in 2011, till the end of the year, with 450 miles mostly done from August.
Walking....gawd knows.
My total for 2011 was 3944. All on MTB's and probably 75% off road. Shame I couldn't do another 56 miles before year end.
Totals for 2011

No idea, but not enough by miles! Ask me next year, I'll note the mileage on the Fs, Ht & roadthing tomorrow!
I think the total could be in the region of 3500.
More than last year.
This year a large chunk of the last two thirds of the year was ridden on a road bike which i really enjoyed.
I've ridden 1mile so far this year and only fell off 3 times - fairly impressive if you add up the empty lager cans I'd consumed before embarking on this challenge
You want to try full lager cans , GW. Much nicer.
Hard to say as I stopped tracking my miles in August as I cancelled my blackberry contract, so no longer had access to endomondo, which reads 943 miles. Rode at least 10km a day the 2 months I was in Whistler (that was just my ride to and from the bike park, not including all the runs I did) and I've been doing at least 7-8 miles a day since I got back in October.. I cba to work it out but maybe 1400 at a very rough guess?
edit - just realised it's actually 2012 now, so that's my mileage for last year 😆
I rode around 5000miles in the States this summer and perhaps another 1500-2000 in Scotland on and off road. More than I have ever ridden in my life. I enjoyed every second of it all.
Road bike miles don't count.
Reckon I've done around 1500 which in equivalent road bike easymiles is 13500.
Roadbike - 1908 (just because I've got a computer and started it at 0 1st Jan -31 Dec) bit shit really, only works out 38 miles per week.
MTB - Dunno. not a lot
SS MTB shoppercommuterpubbike - dunno (do all my everyday mundane type miles on this though)
Road bike miles don't count.
I see your baited hook, Sir, but will have to politely decline.
4712 miles Jan 1st to Dec 31st.
6013 - 1st jan, 31st dec, all mountain!
0 so far this year.not nearly enough last year 😳
9200km in 2011.
100% on a 29er
50% on a single speed
~40% off road
~30% in the dark
In 2011 - 3,854.41 miles, which I'm quite happy about. Plenty of smiles along the way too; even in the wind and rain. Will be happy if I manage the same this year. My arbitrary 'target' was 10m / day average (3,650 total) so chuffed to have ticked that off on 30th November, I think.
MTB 2076 miles, road 4308 miles. making a grand total of 6384 miles.
5743 miles for 2011, bulk of which was commuting but plenty of mtb as well. 20 miles so far for 2012.
2860 miles for me about 500 of which would be on road or town bikes on tarmac. I was hoping for 3000 but didn't quite make it. I measure all my xc, road, town bike miles this way and any time spent on the dh bike, jump bike etc in hours, 425 hours in addition to those miles.
Lets hope 2012 brings even more.
About 2700 miles since March on 130 workouts
80% off road, but 100% on a mountain bike and no commutting
Aiming for 4000 in 2012
Happy Riding chaps!!
Since April about 600 miles on road and 300 miles off.
Simply not enough but better than the last 15 years when i did nothing.
Still got big plans for 2012, looking to do at least twice the miles.
Hard to say exactly, but I reckon around fifteen hundred to two thousand miles.
I'm going to try to keep an accurate record of my mileage this year; not for any particular reason, but it's interesting to know just how far you actually do cycle in a year.
My mileage is higher than quite a few car drivers I know....
According to the garmin - 1189.63 - all on mtb, so about 90% off road. Had a few rides where I didn't bother/forgot garmin so probably around 1250.
Interestingly it reports my max speed as 113.8mph...
Interestingly too - if you stand between the security sensor things in ASDA front doors, the magnetic resonance sets my cateye strada bike computer speed at 69 mph. I couldn't figure out how I got that fast for weeks.
If we are talking about 2011 it was just above 7000 miles.
2012 100 so far!
Close to 4000 miles this year. I must of stepped up in the last 3 months. Off with a sore knee now though but cant wait to beat 2011 milage.
for 2011: 10,927km or 6,829 miles
circa 62% of that distance was commuting on my road bike. The rest a mixture of mainly MTB miles but some road miles too.
Well over 10,000 miles this year.
I do admit the majority was on the road!!
I have no idea.. not as many as I would like..
for 2012 however I will know cos I got a Garmin for Crimbo.. 😀

Well over 10,000 miles this year.I do admit the majority was on the road!!
Thats a serious mileage, close to 50 miles a day for the majority of the year.
Impressed
so far this year
driving: 700
biking: 0
I have not tracked my miles. No bike tours this years so I would guestimate around 3000- 4000 commuting, running errands and for fun
yr 2011 Total:
84 rides (well over 50% in the dark)
1149miles (95% off road)
151,980ft of climbing
more planned for 2012!
Really not a lot, maybe 1200? No idea. Planning to ride a lot more this year though.
About 7000km - 85% off road approx. Not enough
