[Closed] How 'exclusive' is your bike collection?

Cotic Bfe 853 medium in orange, apparently only 3 were made in this size and colour.

Planet X carbon road bike. I bet theres loads of these out there, Ive never seen another on the roads though.

2005 Fly Pantera bmx. Probably not many about now cos its an old frame.

853 Inbred. Not as many around as there were 3.5 years ago when 100 were made. 🙂

Oh, and it's been resprayed orange from the original sky blue and has had a chainstay replaced and modified after chainsuck 'issues'

So it's utterly unique..... 8)

Kobe Ti - 50 I think? common here on STW though
Duster - ten a penny
Benotto fixed - one of a kind, maybe not a good thing
Planet X SL - common, but super ace
Onza fixed - just my getting to work bike
Townsend Mango Creek fixed - truly, truly unique. I rode it at centerparcs a few weeks ago and people were stopping and laughing.

Edit - just remembered the Brompton. More ugly than uncommon.

My main bikes are only really 'exclusive' due to their size.

I have two Bontragers, although the race is dead, and the Privateer needs some cables.

And a Lemond Croix de Fer Road bike, which was a warranty replacement when my Tourmalet snapped. The bike was never imported into the UK so i doubt more than a handful exist here.

condor pista fixed, nice bits on it but no longer as exclusive as they once were, still gets admiring glances/comments.
Pegoretti duende. quite rare and one off paintjob by Dario himself, a long waiting list for one of these and my favorite bike.
dialled love/hate as yet unbuilt but looking forward to riding one again. SS is mainstream now 🙂

Mmm, just replaced an ubiquitous Soul with an also fairly ubiquitous Mmmbop. And my Hemlock would qualify as fairly uncommon elsewhere but not on this forum.

I doubt anyone else on this forum has a 1991 Carrera Krakatoa Flex though eh? Actually my 2008 Carrera Kraken is probably pretty stw-rare too. Join me in the Halfords niche.

for me exclusivity is more about the set-up rather than how few of them you see out and about.

eg. my DH bike has one of the most common you frames you could find but it's been set-up lower and slacker than stock since way before slack cups were available to buy, runs a custom 7speed cassette and I designed a custom shock/frame fender that stops mud collecting in the linkage/shock area, but even without any of those mods it's set-up for me and no-one else and I'm pretty sure many other riders the same hight/size as me wouldn't get on with it.

Having chopped and changed over the years from both ends of the scale, my garage currently contains a mountain, road and CX bike - and all common as muck, (though the first two are builds as opposed to stock).

So... a very un-exclusive collection comprising an Anthem X, S-Works Roubaix and Genesis Vapour.

And they're brilliant, and it's staying that way for a fair bit too (famous last words!)

Feels weird not having an On One in the shed at the moment though.

It wasn't very long ago that we took a fully rigid Pinnacle around Chapel Gate and Hollins Cross. It did draw blood though... 🙂 Really wish I'd not sold that one...

2004 Turner Rail. Supposedly very rare, only 10 in this country I think I was told? Never seen another one out and about.

Carrera Kraken, which is about as common as you can get I suppose.

And a Fly Pantera 2004. Reasonably rare.

Of all the frames i have owned, the only one i have never seen being ridden by anyone else in the same year/colour is my old '01 specialized hardrock. As i recall they made it in about five colours/component specs that year and mine was particularly poor value for money, so i suppose no one else was gullible enough to shell out the extra for the metallic black 'pro' model. 😆

Pastey Howler Ti: Hardly any around, only seen one on here. Mainly because they sent the prototype to be tested and it got slated for a load of manufacturing errors. Sorted for the production run, but I think it killed the brand off.
Spesh Demo 8: Pretty rare version, '05 in ex demo white, most of the batch that was bound for the UK snapped, so rare over here but common in the states I guess.
Spesh P2: Strangley not seen many of these about.
Kona Fire Mountain: Loads of them around, but not many with 700c disk wheels and drops.

Indeed, and if they were spectacular, there would be more of them around, then no one would think they were that special.

Repack rider is pretty well unbeatable in terms of exclusivity though.
