to clean and grease?
Rob,
I'm pretty sure that if you undo the side that accepts an allen key a few turns then just gently tap the pivot axle, it should pop the other end out enough to release the stiction. Then continue to undo and just slide it out.
Not a very good explanation I know but not sure how else to type it.
Carl
thats the old type - sorted this now. Just need to work out how to remove the knackered bearings
Already?!
Was it new, and don't SC warranty their bearings?
8 months old now
Now the lower price of the Heckler over the Five makes sense.
Useless bearings, no tapered head tube, old angles, no ISCG mounts, no dropper post cable routing, no Maxle option...
I had to really thwack the pivot axle out of my Superlight to get it to come out, rather than a 'gentle tap'. Likewise the bearings.
They'd been in there for 4 years though with no servicing, riding in all weathers / Ridgeway lakes, and were still ok, only marginally notchy, but I felt like giving the bike a treat and put a new set in ๐ So, a thumbs up for the Superlight SC bearings from me.
