Improvement over Juicy 7s?
To go on my Heckler for AM Duties......
Shall I go 203 F/185 R or 185 F/160 R??
Im 95kg if that makes any difference.

I've got 203/180's and see no reason to go smaller just to save a few grammes. They destroy the Juicy 5's I had on my last bike.
Do they use the same pads as the ordinary M4s?

same pads as M4's - yes.
i run 203 / 183 on the Ti456 & Helius AM.
modulation central and great build quality - lovely brakes in all regards.

I've got these on my 5 (203/183) and my gf has got them on her blur LT2 (183/183)
I think they are great, bling and are fine for AM riding but maybe a tad heavy for general xc stuff.
I think they are too powerful and heavy for the GF though - but she wanted them & I wasn't going to argue!

Wouldn't bother with a 203mm rotor on an AM bike though. Thats a bit OTT.
Hob Nob - but why wouldn't you bother with one? I don't find it OTT at all.
Just don't think 203mm rotors are needed on that sort of bike. I run a 203 on the front of my DH bike & often wonder if i'm over braked.
Unless you live in the Alps, of course...
I don't find it ott either especially if you go to alps/Spain on your holidays I appreciate the extra heat dispersion/power- if your not bothered about weight then bigger the better! IMO!
Tech levers can be quite awkward to fit
183 front and back on my Chumba VF2.
Dont see any need for 203 up front (and I'm no lightweight either).
Had a 160 rear (which was borderline) and happier with the 183.
Hi, I have now got my M4 brakes, way lighter then Juicy 7's, easy to bleed, set up etc etc and they look fantastic!!
Went for 203/185 floating rotors
I also find them more reliable than than the Mono Mini. My rear mini is forever getting a sticky piston and not retracting as evenly as I'd like. The M4 I have at the front never has a problem - if it does get a slightly sticky piston I guess it has less of an effect as there is still another piston on the same side to sort things out, if that makes sense.
SBrock, I'm the same weight as you and run 203/180. Ran them in Sierra Nevadas a couple of years running and never had any pump or fade. Smaller rotors will save a bit of weight but when you're 95kg how much differnce does 200g make? The guides over there are built like whippets and ride pace hardtails, and they run 203 front and rear.
Another plus is that every bikeshop I've ever been in keeps hope pads, not so with other makes.
