Was just thinking.... If you have gone from a HOPE Tech Evo M4 183mm to 203mm, what where your thoughts on breaking performance v cost ? (plus... not forgetting the looks 😀

Having had a quick look at prices (5 mins)... the HBIS20 and rotor would cost around £52 to do...

Is it worth it or pointless ?

Try bleeding them first. It does make a huge difference to put fresh fluid in.

Cheers -- I will just add.... my current set up is working great with braking performance and running true.... (only got 350 miles on them.)

Its more of a "whim / I like that..." really after seeing it on another bike which got my thinking...... 😀 (you know how it is)

So the real question is, out of the box is there a noticeable difference ?

(thing is.. I have not seen the 2 side by side either from a looks point of view..... )

🙂 🙂 🙂

Feel/Modulation - should be better but you'll probably not notice it
Resistance to overheating - you'll probably not notice either unless you go to the Alps
Looks - up to you really!

I run m4 tech Evos F&R on 203 but I got em cheap and there was no real choice cos thats what he was selling. They're great front and back and I've not had a problem stopping or controlling speed. Gives me confidence when riding

I did have 183 / 160 hope minis and found they had a problem stopping me and a 35lb bike. But they were fine on a hardtail where I wasn't going as fast. Hence the upgrade! But if you've got no problems with what you run then its just down to what you want to do. Your money, your choice but they're great (in my opinion)

I wouldn't bother until it's time to replace the rotor anyway.

Probably my lack of hard riding but when do you replace a rotor?

When it's worn to the point that it's dangerously thin or when it gets damaged/bent.

running 203/183 currently on the Tech M4's just like the feel. Plenty of stopping power well before the point of locking up.
Never bothered with 183 up front.
