Just wondering if you can convert the Pro 2 to the 10mm thru axle without all the special tools you seem to need looking at the servicing video on the Hope website? If so, is it easy?
Soft faced mallet, drift and a socket's all you need.
tools make it easy especially the freehub seal tho
yup - pretty easy - you need the 10mm caps and the new axle.
Pop off the end caps, remove the cassette, remove the freehub (pops off), you just need to use a rubber hammer and support tyhe hub and knock the axle out and one bearing will pop out. Put the new axel in and replace the bearing with a drift. you can use a suitably sized wrench socket and push the bearing back in and then re-assemble!
Just thinking of stiffening up my bike by converting my QR's to bolt throughs on my Hope Pro 2's front & rear. I know a few guys who have done the same albiet one has a bolt through on his rear and the other on the front with a D- Swiss bolt through skewer at the front. They both reckon it makes a big difference with stifness and tracking so for me its a no brainer.
