I think my front hose needs to be replaced. The old one is flexing under pressure and the lever is a bit spongy despite bleeding. It's a braided cable (not hope/goodridge from what I can tell), M4 mono, mini lever.
There's a vid about shortening hoses on the Hope website, about 40s in where the mechanic says all fittings are reusable. So can I just take off all the hardware and bolt it on to some new hose. Even olives? Will I die etc?
Anyone had any success/failure doing this?
Have done it myself, fairly quick easy process to do as in the video you mention. Once had difficulty getting the olive off so had to buy a new one as I mangled it a bit in the process.
Thanks Savage, good stuff, I'll get a spare olive or two just to be safe.
Best replacing the olives, not worth farting about with em. ๐
