Does anyone know where I can get a cheaper (less than the £90 retail) Hope HID bulb? I dropped my light a few weeks ago and its not worked since!

might not be much use but Halfords bikehut near me are doing complete HID lightsets for £120.

you'd get spare battery, charger and lamp unit for that as well which might take the sting out of it a bit...

they are fairly standard welch allen (sp?) bulbs I think, though.

really don't see the point in replacing it with another HID lamp.

M8 had strapped a dealextreme P7 to the side of his Hope HID last night, with only one P7 on it produced more light than the Hope.

£40 for the P7 vs. (upto) £100 for a new HID bulb....

I suggest you send it back to Hope and see what they say. My 18 month old one was starting to flicker when riding so I sent it back to them a couple of weeks ago. I got it back 2 days later with a new bulb, free of charge - excellent Customer Service. I am thinking they probably have quite a few bulbs left, somight do you a deal.

After borrowing Singletrackmind's P7 I can verify the beam power (confuses the hell out of my dog!)... Not quite so easily bar mounted as a Hope HID though.

Lumicycle, same lamp unit, replaced my lumi' with a hope because I could get it at a trade price, and wasn't much cheaper than lumi's retail price.

Definiteley contact Hope, I've heard their customer service is brilliant.
Failing that Ebay if off, obviously as non-working, as I reckon someone could lash it into an LED conversion pretty easily & it would make a nice kit.
Put the cash towards a pair of P7's. I had a Hope HID, great light but the worry of the bulb cost was a big concern; so when my P7 arrived my mind was made up. The P7's are easily on par with the Hope.
