Strange question I know but I've got an old cane creek race (and zs3 headset) that's seen better days and whilst searching for a new one online* found a thread saying can use [url= http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=2095 ]hope race[/url]? Seems bizarre.
*lbs don't stock them and seemed reluctant to order
Certainly the Cane Creek S series headset bearings are compatible with Hope crown race and vice versa. The Hope ones have better sealing as well.

I should say that my experience is with 11/8" steerers, not sure about tapered.
Yeah it's a non tapered fork I'm using. From that link I'd guess new style headset race?... Might order one and have a look, can send it back if not right
Yes, the newer one should be the right one.
