saw a thing on road.cc about hopes cassette, but the article was from 2011 is it ever coming out?

I think the thunder has been stolen a little now by SRAM xx1 so maybe it's been put on the back burner. Shame.

It's been shelved as it wasn't working as well as they'd like and taking up a lot of R&D time. The DH/Enduro 6 or 7 speed one is still in final testing however and may be released.
