Looking at geting ride of my avid cr carbons there a pain in the backside not a fan personaly. looking at the hope range x2 v2 m4 to put on my santa cruz butcher im basicly wanting a powerfull brake set that is well made and not as tempermental as the avids. My santa cruz butcher is light at the moment so weight isnt a issue. I ride alot of freeride anf down hill so quiet like my bikes built solid nva had hopes so any advice would be great thanks

I think the X2 are more geared for XC and the V2 would be better suited.

I have the X2 on my Heckler and they are perfect - but I am a timid sort of rider.

Shimano SLX are hard to beat and there are some great deals available just now.

Tech levers with M4 up front and X2 out back, and atleast 183 floating rotors on both.

This is what I run on my mojo but with a 203mm rotor up front. plenty of power, and i am very pleased with the brakes!!!

I'd sit tight for the 2012 models, apparently they've changed something in the lever to give an extra 15% more power. But as said above M4 from X2 rear makes a good combo.

I got M4's with 183 both ends on my Blur LT2. Perfect brakes in my eyes. Great modulation, awesome power, couldnt really ask for more.
