[#10219382]

I've booked the last week in Sept off and am thinking about a trip on the cheap. CBA taking a full size bike but I could hire one for a few days or take the Brompton.

Lyingair can take me to several places cheap - including Milan - good place for a few days being a tourist then pedalling around countryside a bit, with possibility of shorts adn sandals weather?

Ryan Air to Milan is to Bergamo which isn't especially close to Milan but Bergamo is actually very nice. Lovely old walled city on a hill. Well worth a visit.

We tend to head to the mountains from there which are stunning but are bit of a journey away.

I've been considering similar actually. I can get from East mids to faro, Portugal for £116. Making a long weekend of it very reasonable. Try Geneva also.

Isn’t Milan a shithole? Same with Geneva IMO. But flying to Geneva gets you to lots of other lovely places nearby.

Thanks Nick, that is helpful and positive, I'm more interested in Bergamo now!

I have a pal in Brussels and a tour to there is of interest (couldn't manage the lot on the Brommy tho).

Munich, dunno if I can get there cheap, already been there and the car museum in Stuttgart is better 😁

Cynic-al, I got cheap flights to Geneva for end of September with BA. Am taking bikes but think because it is between seasons (almost) it was a lot cheaper.

Malaga - bound to be cheap flights, weather will be good, plenty of lovely villages and towns; it's not all grim Costa Del Sol Brits Abroad.
