Anyone been up there lately?
Was thinking of doing the route Hartsop, hayeswater, hight street, high raise, load pot hill, the cockpit, martindale, boredale hause and back.
Was hoping for a bit of info about how it's running up there at the moment?
Thanks
I was up there on Saturday. First time for me, so nothing to compare it to. It was a bit soft and boggy in places on the descent to the Cockpit, but all rideable. Views were awesome!
I'm up that way in a couple of weeks and was thinking of doing that route or going round Ullswater clockwise including Helvellyn ridge. Will watch this with interest.
I guess it will be boggy, but I was up there on sunday, skirting round on the southside to Mardale Ill Bell and Nan Bield, and it wasn't too bad on higher ground.
Apparently, after Loadpot Hill, its worth going slightly further north and down the track over Arthur's Pike and Barton fell.
And from Martindale, I'd follow the lakeshore as its one of the most awesome bridleways around.
