Long story short I suddenly have a free weekend, wife and children away.

Now I was thinking out Friday night with a long ride on the Saturday.

Then I got to thinking I should make a bit more of it, it's been 3 years since the tents been out with the children.....

So living in W yorks, heb area. Looking for somewhere I can push off to on Friday after work and have time to get the tent up, field with a toilet will do me facilities wise and a good ride to do on the Saturday.

Keen on all XC, especially single-track and DH. Was thinking Sales or lakes but haven't really cycled in either before.

Suggestions tips and routes welcome, how would you use a suddenly free weekend...

Not sure how long it'd take you get to Edale. Cheap & reasonable campsite (Coopers I think) which has a cafe & shop and the pub over the road does good beer & food and doesn't care how muddy you are when you arrive.

Local riding's excellent with plenty of route options.
