Sorry this is probably a daft question, but always used quick release before.

My new bike has a RS Maxle at the front wheel, so I screw it in, tighten it up to the max and then push the lever closed, but the lever is loose? and there is slight play in the wheel, am I missing something?

(This is for a 20mm one, dunno if it's the same for 15mm) Stick the Maxle through, tighten it up then close the lever and tighten some more (usually oneish turn) so the lever's in the right place and it's all nice and tight.

That said, if there's play in the wheel there may be something up.

there's a grub screw in the centre of the axle - the lever pivots over the top of it. tension the lever like a qr using this. no need to over-tighten the first stage.

Yep sorted it now, like I said daft question, a quick turn and all locked and no play, simple things eh. Thanks
