Been reading around few issues with certain Truvativ BB's (Carrera Fury '07, Truvativ FiveD crankset etc) developing play and general nasty rustiness ('tis my 2nd experience of this) and was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on suitability of fitting, say (for example), [url= http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=24172 ]one of these[/url]?

Hi D if you read reviews on CRC website you need a convertor to use Hope BB with Truvativ cranks 😮
I may be wrong on this, but aren't the 5D chainsets square taper or Isis? Don't think i've seen one with external bearings, but yes, generally Truvativ BBs are a bit crap.
id spend 55 quid on a deore ht2 chainset and bb and rid yourself of the issue....money well spent id say
Assuming that your cranks are suited to this BB, then i'd say go for it. Easy to fit, remember the converter thing that you need. AND replacable bearings.
