We will be in touch
Its sticking and not returning. I have replaced the cable and outer but to no avail and cleaned and lubed the lever and mechanism. Is this an issue with these forks - I don't fancy servicing them without the circlip pliers to hand and they are a mates pair of forks. BTW when you remove the pulley you can twist the spindle for the lockout quite easily. Does this mean the internals need sorting?
When u say twist the spindle quite easily...how easily? I think last time I serviced them it wasn't possible to twist the spindle with your fingers...but possible with a tool.
The spindle should spring back immediately upon release. Does it? If it does, then the spring is working ok.
Last time I had a problem with this it was because the cable wasn't pulled tight enough when I did up the grub screw on the pulley.
Have u tried actuating the lever while pulling on the inner with your other hand? This should reveal any problems with the lever.
yeh seems to easy to pull i.e. not much return force so I think the spring inside maybe duff?
Yep, sounds like it might be the internals, then...
I wouldn't strip them down just for this, but would wait until they need servicing. But, I don't tend to use the lockout that much.
Saying that - you could always mimic what my 08 Reba's have done.....all the damper oil currently appears to be residing in the lower leg. With the u-turn wound down to 85mm the fork is quite effectively locked out!
Really must get that sorted!!
LOL - cheers stumpy - yeh I think I'm gonna call Simon@Loco and try and get him to give them a full service 🙂
