So I put together a new Zee front brake from separate lever and caliper (got the latter cheap you see) using Superstar hose and banjo kit. I finally got around to trying to put the oil in tonight and what a mess.

Tried to get it in from the caliper, really too much resistance to move enough fluid. So injected some in from the bleed port at the top. That all seemed OK-ish. However, then a fair amount of oil leaked from the banjo. There is no lever resistance at all. It doesn't seem that I can easily tighten the banjo bolt any further, but now I can't find the torque spec for it.

I was a bit questioning that the hose fittings came with copper washers rather than O-rings, but thought if other people use it it must be fine.

On the plus side, the lever didn't seem to leak.

Any suggestions? Maybe just give up and call the local mobile bike fixing bloke....
