I have a friend who has a Giant XTR carbon fibre Hardtail, size larger
XTR gears and brakes. Fox Forks. SLG Bell Air set etc. Mavic Tubeless wheels/tyres.
Its in great condition. He purchased 3 years ago second hand but has never used it.
Are 26 inch wheel bikes still popular?
Any advice is appreciated.
I will let on the classified page if I know what its worth and my friend is happy to list at the price someone recommends if I get a reply.
Or would you recommend ebay and let it go to the highest bidder?
We live in Leicsetershire so fairly central.

You will get the most on eBay and a good time of year to sell as people start cycling again.
26" bikes, and old ones at that are never going to get much as the market is small but it will probably get up to £500 with that spec as must have been a very expensive XTC back in 2011?

I'd ebay it for sure. Give it a good scrub, take lots of photos in good light, and include as much detail as you can.

Size L carbon XC HT with 26" wheels... doubt it will go for much. (Sadly)

Search eBay using Advanced options and select 'Completed listings' or 'Sold' listings.

This will give an idea of what similar items actually sold for, as opposed to 'Buy it now' and early bidding values.

Pick some key search phrases like Carbon and XC and XTR.

Doing similar, I found this one sold for just over a bag of sand (albeit posted) back in Feb:
