I want to upload some pics of my bike on to a thread but the instructions seem very confusing to me. It say's something about typing in an address then pasting in the link to the pic itself.
Is it simply a case of pasting the link straight into the box? I tried that and the pic didn't appear. Sorry, Thanks.
you need the pics hosted on teh web somewhere - flikr or the like.
then you need the URL of the pic - the bit then ends ,jpg and paste that into the box
Properties of the picture NOT the URL.
Step by step.
Have you got your photos hosted somewhere? Flickr, Picasa?
If not, get an account. Flickr is ok and free.
Read the forum help, link on top right side of this page.
Or, if using flickr click "share this" from the photo page and use the bbcode option.
Yeah I've got them on Picassa. I've read the help bit it doesn't seem very clear to me. I've copied the link from the pic itself (not the site url) but then I'm getting lost at the next bit.
I don't know Picasa so there might be a better way than this.
Select the photo you want, in the size you want.
Right click on the photo and you should see "properties"
Copy the information from properties which will probably end .jpg
In the forum post you want to put the picture.
1. click IMG from above (in the reply box)
2. paste the image properties
3. click /IMG from above
4. Click preview to see if it's worked.
[img ] 
[ /img]
the above without the space before the second ] & third ] gives you the following
[img] [/img]

Thanks! As I thought it's actually quite simple. They should have got you to write the instructions. You can see my pics on the 'Giant Trance' thread now. Well I can only see the first one but could see both in the preview! Anyway.
No probs, sometimes it cuts the photos from the preview. Off to have a look now.
