Ok after the MCR/BLKPL ride yesterday an incident occurred with wife in car versus bike on the floor.........car won!

So I need a new bike for daily commute of 20 miles a day throughout the year with some bike events over the summer months.
I would like something that soaks up the urban part of my commute but that is faster that the bike that has just been killed, Cannondale Bad Boy.
And I have ( when the insurance arrives) about 1k.

All help gladly received.

Oh and I feel very sad at the death of a beloved companion so please be nice to me.

Cannondale road bikes are always badly spec'd but have good frames for the money at ~£1000.

For more 'comfort' maybe go for the new kaffenback when it arrives?

For more bling something cheep and [s]plastic[/s] carbon.

I've an odd urge to buy one of those ragley road frames, despite me thinking they look pants, apprently they're quite good.

I miss my old bad boy. I'd get another one. The newer ones look ace.

Ridgeback Flite, road gearing, disc brakes and guard/rack mounts.

Most excellent commute / occasional road type event bike.
