[Closed] Help solve my 1x9 dilemma

I was previously running 1x9 using an old XT triple chainset and an E13 chainguide (one which attached at the BB).

Long story short, the crank broke and I bought a new XT double.

Putting the whole thing back together I can't seem to get a workable chainline for the crank, chain device and cassette.

Is it possible to run this set-up, or do I need to consider other options.

If it is other options, is it thick/thin and a clutch mech?

Any pointers much appreciated, it's cold in the yard and I think I've woken my daughter up trying to make the crank fit!

Matt

Just having the chain device on seems to put the front ring too far out compared to the largest cog on the cassette.

It the chainring also seems to be too far away from the chain device, meaning it rubs in the higher gears.

just fit a narrow/wide chainring,no need for clutch mech.

You could try chainring spacers.
