The front mount on my supersix sheared after I went for the downshift. The mount is riveted to the carbon frame and as it was second hand there is no warranty (not that cannondale would warranty it). Any hope of replacing it properly and most importantly safely?
Any thoughts before I call the insurers?

Contact one of the carbon repair places - I'm sure they'll sort you out.
