Maybe I am being a numpty but....

I thought that to remove a RF crankset you have to effectoively tighten the main crank bolt to push the drive side off.

If you unscreww the bolt all the way off there are 2 washers. Do I have to remove these before screwing it back in again?

Help!

I am about to resort to semtex....

Hold on, what type of BB? Square taper, ISIS or external?

I wouldn't be tightening anything...

Ah, then maybe it needs another type cap/extraction bolt thing? The standard one screws into the axle, but the extractor one pushes it off. Don't be tightening the standard fastening bolt up. I think you have to take that out, and use the extractor cap thing to get the crank arm off.

there was a thread about this before, if i recall the older htii evolve cranks you need to undue the inner bolt and it self extracts (make sure the bigger outer cap is still on)
if its the newer type you need a crank extractor

Look on the bright side: you've just avoided destroying your cranks, by over-tightening them...
