So, inspired by a couple of recent threads about custom stemcaps, I fancy getting meself one with a smartass comment on it that'll get all my riding buddies s****ing, admiring glances from women, and generally bring me eternal wealth and happiness.

Trouble is.... I'm not at all funny, and just can't think of anything witty to put on there! Or, at least that won't just look puerile and unfunny after three hours of staring at it!

So, STW wits, help me out and suggest a clever/funny comment in 30 characters or less to put here

I think this is like a tattoo. i.e. if you can't think of anything yourself, don't bother. Failing that, just get a dolphin or something in japanese on your stemcap.

I would never employ anyone with a custom stem cap... 😉

"Someone else did my homework"? But in Russian or something.

Arse

Is that a comment on me, or a suggestion of what to write on the stem cap, or both!

Purely stem cap....sorry for any confusion

I also like a button badge I saw recently "I love tits"

that one might not go down too well with the laydeez though...

It's disappointing that you don't get to see what your witty text will look like before ordering though.

How about "don't look down" or "read this and crash"

Stem caps are like tattoos, wise words there ) I like personalised caps if they're good ones.

A few faves -

What would Stamstad do? - via Shaggy, on PE's bike
Shut up legs! - or any other utterance from JV
Go Further - std Ridgeback cap, on a couple of my bikes
Alpine Dreaming - stock Alpkit design, on my bike that was built up for our GR5 epic and other bikepack adventures
Sack up, fool! - not a top cap, a Mr T design on DrJon's bike. Not quite sure what that means but I like it.

" " - A blank one on my fave bike. Much more zen.

Loads on a long photo thread on MTBR too.

Something along these lines

FWIW, I always liked the Syncros ones that had "Look up!" on them 🙂

I wanted one that said "confidence, control, concentration, commitment" just as a gentle reminder. Maybe swap it out occasionally for one that says "head, feet, body, speed".

I need to get one that simply says "Stretch, dammit". The number of times I've got half way round a race and my back is sore because I forgot to do a 2 second stretch before setting off...

Back and forth. Forever.

(the film's a 15, not some dodgy interweb finding!)

"This is not a stem cap" ...for those long rides.

"Ride it like you stole it" ...for your favourite hack.

"Should have got a full susser" ...for your HT during those rock gardens.
