The missus is at Zumba and is back any minute
I have taken the opportunity to strip down and replace the seals and diaphragms in my Hope Tech brakes on the kitchen table
Major problem is that Hope seem to have bundled an extra rubber O ring in the pack - which is almost certainly critically important, I just cant see where it goes
The pack contains:
2 diaphragms
2 O rings for the piston and a thinner seal for it too
A small poxy looking rubber ring I have absolutely no idea about
The whole thing is stripped down and ready to be rebuilt
Id hate to realise when its too late that there is something Ive missed
As it is the only flaw in my original cunning plan would have been a bit of a whiff of mineral oil around the sink and none of the dishes done, now I am certain to have a contraband muddy bike in here with bits of caliper drying on the side instead of the dishes
Zumba finishes at 10pm, its 10 mins away
Dont let me down 🙂
plug o ring
phewwwww
as you were gentlemen
It's too late. Your only hope is to shave and oil your chest, pop on an open-neck shirt and wiggle your hips at her to distract attention from the pool of DOT5 eating through the table

Mineral oil AND DOT5 in a Hope brake thread.
It'll end in flames of death.
DOT 5.1 shirley?

Think you've got more than one flaw in your plan there.... 😉
Aaaargh - defeat from he jaws of victory
Ive just realised what ive done
CRC were flogging litre bottles of Shimano mineral oil cheap at the weekend
Well at least I know I can fit a new £5 seal kit in less than 20 mins next time
Gumph
Don't forget to change the seals in the master cylinder. You might need to change the hose, too.
