Hi,

I got chatting to a bloke about his recumbent today.

Conversation covered his book about riding across America. It sounds interesting, I thought I’d track a copy down. It would be Easy with the internet?

Now I’m crap at remembering names, so asked his name twice. All I remember is it’s John middle name last name. Thanks brain

I thought I remembered the name of the book “after the American dream”. Well it can’t be that, because I can’t find it.

He rode the route of the American pioneers over about 4 months looking for what the American dream is.

He said the book is out of print.

It’s a bit embarrassing to go an knock on his door to ask his name, especially having told him I’m crap at names and have already asked twice.

He said he was a contemporary of the Crane brothers who wrote journey to the center of the earth. If you haven’t read their book it’s available here

http://www.koopmann.lightup.net/crane /">Journey to the center of the earth

Can anyone help?

Cheers
Martin

Thanks Disben!

I am in Notts.

There was mention of a dog that had passed away, which was why he had his bikes out of the shed.
