I have a 2009 Trek EX8 bedecked with Fox 130 Float forks, just brought the frame and forks seperately from the good folks of the STW forum.

I am trying to use Avid Juicy 7 front brake with a 180mm Hope saw rotor, originally the bike used Avid 185mm rotors, both the fork and caliper are post mount, so i presumed that if i got a post to post + 20mm (says for 180mm) adaptor i could fudge it all to work, but no joy.

STW'ers any ideas? Could i use 183mm Hope rotor as it is only 2mm out from the original?

i'm off to Coed y Brenin for the bank holiday and wanted bike up and running for it's first outing.

From my (limited!) experience avid brakes only work well with the corresponding rotors... Try measuring other rotors. They are very rarely what they say, while Avid ones are literally described.

EDIT.. mind you, if you dumped the wobbly washers and took some space back with some flat ones you could be ok.....

I hate those wobbly washers, i fine they make things worse instead of being of any help.
