In need of some help.

Packing bikes to leave for France last night and found a crack in one of our frames.

I've managed to find a replacement swing arm but it'll only get here (south west Scotland) at lunch tomorrow and we fly out first thing so I'm looking for anyone that's traveling to the alps tomorrow evening, ie the Edinburgh to Geneva flight later in the afternoon that would be willing to bring the swing arm with them if I can get it to the airport.

Any offers or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, not going out until next Friday. (driving from Cheltenham to Valloire)

If you're not sorted by then, let me know.

Have you considered getting it posted straight to your chalet / campsite?

Dave

Thanks for the offer but only getting out there a week.

Posting is an option but would take quite a while to get there. It is the best plan we have just now though.

easy, just not nec cheap. Just log in and see how expensive it is.

I'd ride it cacked and see how it goes, unless it's fubared alreadY?

cynic-al -

I'd ride it cracked and see how it goes, unless it's fubared already?

I did the same on a trip to Spain. I made a pencil mark at the end of the crack and kept checking to see if it had got any worse after the descents. It might depend on how much of a hucker you are though?

Unfortunately its on a session 88 and the guy does ride rather hard. Also the crack covers more than half of the upper edge, half the inner edge and has 2 more hairline cracks on the upper and lower edge.

Going to see about changing flights.

"As anyone asked to to carry anything for them?"
"Well, err, sort of"

Why not get it sent via UPS or DHL. Have a look at www.interparcel.com for a cheap rate and they can get it there next day.

Just buy a new bike, and deal with the logistics when you get back.

As per woody74 or maybe look at hiring a bike they seemed to have good range of stuff when we were in Saalbach and Chatel/Morzine.

One the the guys took a Halfords HT the first year we went, lasted three runs, it was almost cartoon like the way it rattled appart beneath him. He hired a Scott Gambler for I think about £30-40 per day.

But of course new bike ftw 🙂

So as much as the new bike option appeals, the money ain't there.

He's came to the conclusion of taking his heckler and just playing about on that.

Thanks for the ideas folks
