looking at the enclosed mount - it appears that itmay swivel. I am thinking of something along the line of the joystick mount.

Any ideas of what to do?

I'm using a joystick mount now for mine, but previously used a blob of blutack and some red post office rubber bands recovered from the front path.

Or just use zipties..

scrap the mount and get some reuseable cable ties. you'll then have a world of options

Cut the lower section off the handlebar mount to leave a low profile C section,(like it looks behind the red light in your pic) line it up with the light body, drop it thru a vent and twist the lower section 90 degrees so it snugs up against the sides of the vent, If you've got a threaded bolt in there, you can then clamp it down with the bolt and it should make a good interference fit similar to the exposure mount.
Obviously, test it'll work before you cut off the excess.
