Checking in for the first time.....no need to go easy on me if you feel it appropriate not to be....

I have a HT and a FS both Stevens. Manic HT and a 3 week old Glide Max that is superb....

I live on the edge of the Peaks in Matlock and have been riding for nearly 2 years. I am of a competent standard....

I am however a numpty when it comes to bike maintenance and have little mechanical know-how. That life though, hey!!

Thats all.....

Welcome. But I would advise you to get out before you get addicted.

If I had done what I was supposed to be doing for half the time I have been on here I would be a lot fitter and wealthier.

"competent standard" I like that phrase. It's a bit like "lifetime warranty", it can mean whatever you want it to. 😉

Handybendy - Have you been out with the Matlock CC MTB lads yet ??
They have been regally meeting across from Stanley Fearns on a Saturday around 9.00am / 9.15am for the past 25 years or more, they always get in the region of 20+ riders. Absolutely cracking bunch of lads with some of the best knowledge known of riding in the Peaks 😆

I usually get out on a Sunday as I have too much going on on Saturdays.....I have seen them loitering outside Stanleys though.....I did not notice anything regal about them though 😉

You wait till you ride with them, the older guys put most "young un's" to shame 🙄

He knows the lingo already, I'm impressed!

Now for some tester questions, to see if he's been paying proper attention...

What tyres for?

Full sus or hardtail?

Best bike for £1k?

What super slack, long travelled, skill compensating, gravity sled do I need for my bimble round my local woods?

Which Audi do I need as I own an Orange 5, and I work in IT?

If a guy does a jump on his 29er in the woods, and there was nobody around to witness, did the wheels actually make a sound as they exploded upon landing?

To 650b, or not 650b, that is the question?
