I have a '00 heckler that had intimate relations with a tree that resulted in the rear mech being ripped from the frame, not sure how but it has stripped the non-replacable hanger thread and left the mech unharmed.

Is it an M10?

I'm sure that mech bolts are M10 x 1

It is M10 x 1, but mech hangers arent very thick. A helicoil might be too long. You could cut it off, but I'm thinking more about the actual amount of thread engagement for the helicoil.

looks to be the same thread as for spark plugs

BETD do frame saver bushes, easy to fit if you don't mind taking a drill to your mech hanger....

Cheers guys, didn't think about the length of the helicoil. Looks like it's the BETD option.

Thanks again.
