I reckon the dog's just terrified of being abandoned in the middle of nowhere - "Mustn't lose sight of him! Mustn't lose sight of him!" the whole way down...

I like Jack Russells, they really are unbelievably cute, well apart from the fact the leader of the pack, nearly runs her over a couple of times, little Lilly will I fear probably need a zimmer by the time she is five, I don't think small dogs are genetically disposed to run at that sort of intensity.
