[Closed] Have shimano ptfe gear cables changed colour?

Just exhausted my own stock. They were always black (which I thought was the coating).

Just fitted some, they were bronzey. That's the super slippery ones made from PTFE and eel skins.

IIRC only the XTR ones have been black for a while. the non-XTR are clear / silvery tinted.

I was going to suggest the XTR inner & outer kit that CRC had for sale last year, £12 for everything (inners / outers / sealed ferrules, the lot), but can't see them on there now. 🙁
Glad I got a couple of sets now.

The gold'y coloured ones 'may' be the Ultegra cables...work a treat and smooth as F.

Just had some Ultegra slippy cables fitted, sort of bronze colour
