Is there not a stiff/jungle/orange tie in anyway?

As brands hope has expanded internationally over the past 5-10 years, while orange has at best stood still as a UK brand.

I know Stiff/Jungle are joined but dunno about Orange !

You can buy plenty of hope here in Oz, seen 2 oranges both sponsored...
Also perhaps with such a high frame price orange need. To cut costs.

The hope team use whatever frames they fancy or that the riders are tied to ie. spesh for Brayton, santa cruz for Sam Flannigan etc. Some of the team were on Giant not so long ago.

As has been said, Hope let their staff and riders basically ride what they like. Was there on the tour not long ago and saw a good few Orange knocking about. Then at the Leisure Lakes demo day earlier this year Hope had a fully 'Hope'd' up Five as their main display piece.

Plus go to Orange website and build a Five, headset, extender ring, rims, brakeset, seat clamp and pedals can all be Hope if wanted. Hardly sounds like they have fallen out really.

Orange use Hope parts as options on their bikes. There is no 'falling out'.

Santa Cruz are not owned by Hope. At all.

Just thought I'd say that I wasn't confused by the term run. I run a specialized, cotic and a Giant at the moment, and I do not own a controlling interest in any of these componies.

Orange seem to use less Hope parts in their builds, mind- though that's not all bad, they used to do stupid combos like pro 2s on really cheap rims, now they use the higher end formulas for the cheaper ones which really makes more sense. Though, I'm not sure if the prices dropped...

Not technically true either I'm afraid.

As all of the Hope team is owned and funded by Hope alone, with no sponsorship tie in's, We can basically select whatever bikes we like and Hope pick up the tab, and build them up in factory parts. The bikes are owned fully by Hope and at the end of the line are either sold to refund new ones or given to riders to sell as part of their contract.

Obviously Hope have industry friends and can buy certain brands at better rates, so that's what is normally selected. Ie. the XC team are now all on Scott bikes, before it was Giant. The Enduro lot are normally on SantaCruz/Yeti and the downhill are normally Spesh.
