Of late I have noticed that on more & more of the new Orange & Hope models, they don't seem to promote each others business and share products as they once did !,or issit me ?,just wondered if they'd had a fall out !!..
Hope now run Santa Cruz, Orange now use Easton Wheels etc....
Is there not a stiff/jungle/orange tie in anyway?
As brands hope has expanded internationally over the past 5-10 years, while orange has at best stood still as a UK brand.
I know Stiff/Jungle are joined but dunno about Orange !
You can buy plenty of hope here in Oz, seen 2 oranges both sponsored...
Also perhaps with such a high frame price orange need. To cut costs.
Hope now run Santa Cruz

Hope now run Santa Cruz
so they've bought out Pon Holdings, who also own Focus and Cervelo?! Hope have deep pockets, who'd have thought there was so much money in churning out machined alloy hubs that crack?
The hope team use whatever frames they fancy or that the riders are tied to ie. spesh for Brayton, santa cruz for Sam Flannigan etc. Some of the team were on Giant not so long ago.
at CTM.
My point but without trying to sound like an internet"expert" ๐
When I said they run Santa Cruz,i meant the bikes, not the Co !!,sorry for any confusion or rumours, before the lawyers start getting twitchy ๐
crashtestmonkey !
Its the other way around isn't it ??..

...fallen out....
Easton wheels now? Jesus Christ.
As has been said, Hope let their staff and riders basically ride what they like. Was there on the tour not long ago and saw a good few Orange knocking about. Then at the Leisure Lakes demo day earlier this year Hope had a fully 'Hope'd' up Five as their main display piece.
Plus go to Orange website and build a Five, headset, extender ring, rims, brakeset, seat clamp and pedals can all be Hope if wanted. Hardly sounds like they have fallen out really.
Easton Arc rims, still on hope pro 2 hubs..
So there not using mavic rims.. Hope upgrades still available on all builds.
Not sure how this indicates a fall out with hope?
Hope now run Santa Cruz
Uk component manufacturer buys far eastern mass produced frames to showcase their parts.

No.
Do they borrow them? Either way piggybacking onto their expensively marketed brand is cheap advertising.
Doesn't Sam Flanagan ride a yeti? Rachel walker on Santa Cruz and used to be on specialised, Craig Evans on Santa Cruz,

Well they haven't bought Santa Cruz.

When I refer to
I mean the product of the company, not the company itself.frames
Pretty sure that Hope allow their riders to use whatever the want - like SRAM TLD
far eastern mass produced frames
Well they're mass produced because they're popular and made in the far east because they're the best at it!

at what? marketing and fluoro stickers?
Why aren't people reading the thread fully.
Hope own Hope.
Hope allow their riders to ride basically whatever bikes they want, and put their free Hope parts on them. Simple.
Orange use Hope parts as options on their bikes. There is no 'falling out'.
Santa Cruz are not owned by Hope. At all.
Just thought I'd say that I wasn't confused by the term run. I run a specialized, cotic and a Giant at the moment, and I do not own a controlling interest in any of these componies.
Lol ^^^^
Orange seem to use less Hope parts in their builds, mind- though that's not all bad, they used to do stupid combos like pro 2s on really cheap rims, now they use the higher end formulas for the cheaper ones which really makes more sense. Though, I'm not sure if the prices dropped...

so you're saying Santa Cruz own Hope? wtf? i thought were all about being a british company?!?
[quote=Northwind ]Orange seem to use less Hope parts FEWER!!! Good grief!
Fewer than less? Whats that then, a little?
Oh scotroutes ๐ Less vs fewer is just made up modern bollocks- it's a false distinction invented about 200 years ago purely because someone thought fewer was a more elegant word. It's like further vs farther.

Not even sure if this thread has just become a parody now.

Not technically true either I'm afraid.
As all of the Hope team is owned and funded by Hope alone, with no sponsorship tie in's, We can basically select whatever bikes we like and Hope pick up the tab, and build them up in factory parts. The bikes are owned fully by Hope and at the end of the line are either sold to refund new ones or given to riders to sell as part of their contract.
Obviously Hope have industry friends and can buy certain brands at better rates, so that's what is normally selected. Ie. the XC team are now all on Scott bikes, before it was Giant. The Enduro lot are normally on SantaCruz/Yeti and the downhill are normally Spesh.
