At the very last minute I decided against bidding on ths nukeproof mega:

( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nukeproof-Mega-All-Mountain-Enduro-Bike-Black-Large-Rockshox-Monarch-Downhill-/251208923469?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item3a7d37f94d&nma=true&si=EpCmJrIYuSJ5cTaTsyuRIqStv%2Fo%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557)

It ended up going for £1000. I think I've made an error I may well regret for sometime 🙁

With the 'all new' mega out this year you can be sure there will be plenty of them being sold. Another one will come along.

something will come along again. OK, its a nice bike and a good price, but it's not like it had the top spec.

If it had a reverb, hope hubs a 36 Float on the front maybe it would be crying time

Fevour, jota - Thank you. Both things to sooth me asleep this weekend.

Chris - Not helping 😀

They're on sale at CRC as well, but only have smalls left.

Just have to wait until people with more money that me get the 2013 model (which is unlikely to be 'all new')!

I dunno, coffin up a grand on an unseen bike is quite an undertaking

I'd say you've actually dodged a bullet- poor forks, poor wheels, heavy spec, 9 speed and entry level brakes. Certainly nothing to write home about, an OK frame with low end parts thrown at it.

Scardeypants - That's what did it for me in the end. The pics were from a suspicious angle, i.e. not showing the crankside. Also the lack of a reverb saddle. (also appreciate the 'coffin' pun)

Didn't think it would take long....
http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1253671/

I really don't understand why someone would sell something 8 weeks after buying it!

Some more consolation for you, eightyeight - only one person bid, I don't think you were the only one to decide not to, backing off just might have been the right thing.

Still on the lookout for a mega and spotted this
http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1271499/

I know it's nothing special, but you usually can only just get the frame for £600-700, or am I missing something?
