So after seeing the thread on lube and that i could be over applying squirt by using it after each 10-15mile ride i decided not to bother.
Que looking at the bike yesterday and seeing a rusty chain and stuck jockey wheel. Can they be rescued or is it better to replace, Only done a few hundred miles.

What type - SRAM or Shimano. SRAM use a sealed bearing, that's not well packed initially, so pop the seals off and re-grease - I needed electrical cleaner to dilute the crud first time I re-greased them.
Shimano run on 'bushes', so a clean and a dollop of grease should be fine.
