Very nice.
Rich, I understand that you've been trying to persuade Rob Jebb to do SSUK next year. Excellent work!

Cheers for the tip.

It's not (yet) possible to relive rides from the past.

Loving this, cheers!

(it's on my list of things to mess with so I don't know yet if it works but I found a piece of software that can generate a .stl from a .gpx- 3d print your ride, with elevation and all )

Kind of related to this... has anyone had a play with dashware ( http://www.dashware.net)? If you video a ride or part of a ride you can sync and overlay your gps data to the video and show info in lots of different ways.

This is a vid I took and had a play with

(ps I know my riding isn't great!).

Ha ha - I got excited then thinking it would be so thing to add a bit of motivation to me . . . But I don't think it will as I'm restricted to riding my turbo in my kitchen!

Can't wait to get out on a proper bike and try it ๐Ÿ™‚

Relive does not seem to be working for me, after seeing the article at BR last week and clicking the option to link to Strava.

Do I have to change settings on Strava as well, or is this a problem with gmail accounts?

Just in case you don't know, it only works for rides over 20km and won't work for any of your previous strava entries.

You can create something similar and more customised using google earth pro if you have the time or need. I created one for the london to bright off road route by importing the gpx file.

If you lose the email link to your ride that Relive sends, how do you view the ride again?

If you use StravistiX and Chrome for Strava, there is a permalink on each ride for the video

Or you can use https://www.relive.cc/view/ followed by the ride number from Strava

Weird, wonder if it's something to do with privacy settings? My strava is quite strict, doesn't allow flyby for example.

My rides so far have been under 20km, so that might explain it.

It'd be cool if instead or as well as they integrate it with youtube then you can use youtubes music library. Also it'd reduce the load on their servers and bandwidth.

I took my friend - who was visiting from the Midlands - on a sightseeing ride yesterday, and Relive has enabled me to give him a short summary of the day

Thanks for link, used it yesterday, apart from a few worrying bits when I seem to leave no trail it's really good!

It's a shame it's 'just' a video and you can't play with the model afterwards.

Nice. I like the filter for distance, as I don't bother tagging my commutes as commutes, CBA, but they're not long enough to get caught

Any other cool strava linked apps for STW folks - I know there are loads and even Strava awards

Do you have to tag your pics to the ride before you upload, or after?

Mine seems a bit threadbare with no max HR, highest point etc...

I absolutely loved this when I was first introduced to it but, like one of those pop songs that gets into your head on first listen, it does lose its appeal when the novelty wears off. I do hope they extend the functionality a bit. I reckon a soundtrack is a great idea, but what I'd love to see is place names. I did a big road ride in the Summer but, without places names, there's simply no context of where it started and where it went.

Sorry. I sound like a right party pooper ๐Ÿ˜†

Yeah I doubt it'll hold much appeal it'all hold second time around, but tbh most of my rides are 15km-18km long anyway.

You can upload the pics after the ride. Mine go to Strava when I plug the Garmin into my PC. Once it's uploaded I add pics via my mobile using "edit activity".

I think Relive comes along and grabs the ride a day or so later?

well if we're sharing ๐Ÿ˜‰

https://www.relive.cc/view/690722370

didn't realise I was an 'early adopter' to this (I only joined Strava 12 months ago, I'm a bit of a reactionary Luddite usually). Like the little additions like max HR and speed, just wonder when it becomes a Strava Premium-only or some other set up where they can actually make money from it.

It decided to ignore 3 out of 4 photographs... Not that they were any good anyway using a crappy phone camera.

https://www.relive.cc/view/778956804

Satellite imagery is a murky grey when zoomed in, and dirty pixelated green when zoomed out. Not helped by 99.9% of my rides start from doorstep. A bit flat really.

My last innerleithen ride actually made me laugh out loud, with the completely ridiculous route I'd taken, it was the sort of line you draw when you're trying to reanimate a dead biro.

Maybe. I've done a 150m ride with just shy of 10 hours in the saddle, but would definitely be more than 10 hours elapsed time. If I'd taken 10 more minutes maybe I wouldn't have got one.

Like it for novelty factor, but it would be great if you could edit on the back end some how - zoom closer in and change map type.
Not looked at the Relive site but assume what you get sent is it - no changes possible?
