I can't mount a light on the handlebars with my bikepacking set up because the handlebar bag is in the way. Has anyone found a successful alternative? I was hoping that there'd be a fork crown mount, like you get with dynamo lights, but I can't find one for an Exposure Race light. Any ideas?
Fit a handlebar bag that doesn't get in the way 😉
Serriously though, it's something I thought about before buying a bag and it surprises me how many folk obviously haven't (or have made it a lower priority).
There are both bar- and stem-mounted options to provide a higher bar to fit lights to, e.g. Minoura Spacebar.
I made one from a bit of plastic tubing and four reflector mounts when I was fitting a computer, lights and a GoPro and needed the additional space. I never used it in anger though 🙂

I've bodged the front half of an Exposure stem mount into a Supernova fork mount (bit of filing to fit) with great success but other people simply use a handlebar extension mount to clamp lights/GPS units to to clear handlebar bags
How much room do you have underneath your bar bag though?
